Quest for the best coffee: Out To Lunch

Out To Lunch is located on the ground floor of building 17

Out To Lunch is passionately supported by some, and vehemently opposed by others, so I was looking forward to discovering what Out To Lunch offers.

Out To Lunch is reminiscent of a modern metropolitan cafe. Its arty wall pieces and minimalist style are very enjoyable. The scent of cinnamon hangs freshly in the air, and the food looks great. It is easily the most cafe-like vendor on campus, as it is more than just a hole-in-the-wall coffee vending machine.

Service at Out To Lunch was… relaxed. However while they were patient to acknowledge me service was polite and friendly. The real disappointment though came from the latte. The store had no medium size, which I should’ve taken as a sign that the coffee would fall short in comparison to Panizzi and Rush2. It sufficed as a pick-me-up, but it lacked the freshness and crisp taste that the others can consistently produce.

Out To Lunch’s fans are evidence though that the cafe can hit the mark— perhaps it fell short just this time.

It is never pleasant to be tempted to leave a coffee unfinished, but Out To Lunch had the advantage in its clean and well considered design, and its warm atmosphere. On a scale from ‘parents priceless Ming vase smashed at a party’ to ‘x-ray vision’, I rate Out To Lunch a ‘good Disney song‘.
